They can use this percentage to determine the number of reps they should be able to do with a specific amount of weight for that lift to cause hypertrophy in the targeted muscle group. So, on top of having an already overly-strenuous, very high intensity program that sets you up for injury to start with, most people are doing the lifts and other exercises all wrong, and there is no one there to correct them. I’m not a bodybuilder, but I do know a lot of them, along with crossfitters. The most visible athletes in the CrossFit world are basically perfect physical human specimens. First of all, let me say that I have been an athlete for years. Doing ANYTHING is better than nothing, and that’s what I encourage people to do. CF is about athleticism. Ive seen countless times people backstab spouses that don’t do CF. CALORIES, ENERGY ARE A CONCEPT AND CAN NEVER EVER BECOME BODILY FAT TISSUE, MATTER. PED is so obvious in Crossfit it’s not even funny. You should probably take a few classes on the human body and it’s motions and stop just blindly drinking the crossfit kool-aid. Example: Putting heavy snatches almost last in the training session after doing some other really hard exercises that really take it out of you. Sure they spend a lot of time in the gym, but they have VERY long rest periods and rarely do intense efforts for long. There are no exceptions, if you’re following the WODs, it’s not good for you, it’s not safe, and you’re putting your health in danger. To do otherwise seems unnatural. And I work in a 7 mile run once a week. They are definitely not all created equal. That doesn’t endear them to most people, because … It becomes their identity in life…(sad).
